authorization to reserve funds for the
acquisition of properties at Ormond
Beach for restoration of wetlands and related habitat; and
consideration and possible Conservancy
adoption of a resolution honoring Roma Armbrust.
4. Consideration and possible Conservancy
authorization to disburse up to $150,000 to
the City of Manhattan Beach for the
design of the reconstruction of The Strand walkway.
5. Consideration
and possible Conservancy authorization to disburse up to $132,000 to the Ventura
Resource Conservation District to implement a portion of the Ventura River Arundo Removal
Demonstration Project.
6. Consideration
and possible Conservancy authorization to disburse up to $7,200,000 to the
San Diego River Park-Lakeside Conservancy and
to disburse $7,420,000 to the Department of Fish and Game to acquire properties
within the San Diego River and the Otay River watersheds in order to implement
the San Diego Multiple Species Conservation Plan, approved by the Conservancy
on June 25, 1998, as part of the state’s Natural Communities Conservation
Planning (NCCP) Program, and to implement the San Diego River Park: Lakeside NCCP Program,
adopted by the Conservancy on June 25, 2001.
Central Coast
7. Consideration and possible Conservancy
authorization to disburse up to $1,250,000 to the State Department of Parks and
Recreation towards its acquisition
of a 42-acre property for addition to Montana de Oro State Park, San
Luis Obispo County.
8. Consideration
and possible Conservancy authorization to
disburse up to $453,000 to the County of Santa Barbara to prepare engineering
designs, environmental documentation, and permit applications for fish passage improvement projects
in coastal streams on the County's south coast.
9. Consideration
and possible Conservancy authorization to
disburse up to $300,000 to the Planning and Conservation League Foundation to
develop a program to restore the resources of the Carmel River in conjunction
with the removal or modification of the San Clemente Dam.
San Francisco Bay
10. Consideration and possible Conservancy
authorization to disburse up to $650,000 to the California State Parks
Foundation to complete Phase II of the design for the Yosemite Canal Wetland Restoration
and Public Access Project at Candlestick State Recreation Area,
including detailed designs, engineering specifications, technical studies and
field tests, CEQA compliance and permitting for approximately 34 acres of
restored tidal marsh and public access improvements, and engineering for a
nature center.
11. Consideration and possible Conservancy
authorization to disburse up to $500,000 to the Muir Heritage Land Trust to
acquire the 158-acre Dutra Ranch
in Contra Costa County.
12. Consideration
and possible Conservancy authorization to
disburse up to $400,000 to Literacy for Environmental Justice to construct a greenhouse classroom in San
Francisco as a model for ecological design, sustainable energy technology, and
self-contained wastewater treatment.
13. Consideration and possible Conservancy
authorization to disburse up to $233,000 to Acterra, acting through the San
Francisquito Watershed Council, to design modifications to fish barriers,
eradicate invasive non-native plants, and design and produce materials for
watershed stewardship in the San
Francisquito Creek Watershed, Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties.
14. Consideration
and possible Conservancy authorization to
disburse up to $200,000 to the Point Reyes Bird Observatory to refine and
implement an avian Habitat Conversion
Model that will help guide decisions on design of the South Bay Salt
Pond Restoration Project, in Alameda, San Mateo, and Santa Clara Counties.
North Coast
15. Consideration and possible Conservancy
authorization to disburse up to $300,000 to the Harmony Union School District
for the creation of a "green"
magnet school to include construction of a creek observation deck, a
nursery, an outdoor classroom and a nature trail; preparation of a design plan
for a community resource center, a trail feasibility study, a public access
plan and a forestry management plan; and enhancement of a riparian corridor and
a wetland area.
16. Consideration and possible Conservancy
authorization to disburse up to $713,000 for project planning, design, and
implementation in the Navarro River watershed, Mendocino County, pursuant to
the Navarro River Restoration
Plan, adopted by the Conservancy on
August 6, 1999.
Consent
17. Consideration
and possible Conservancy action on the following Consent Items:
a.
Authorization to
disburse an amount not to exceed $200,000 to the Cambria Community Services
District for the acquisition of a
1.6-acre parcel in the community of Cambria, San Luis Obispo County.
b.
Authorization to
disburse up to $106,500 to the Santa Cruz County Resource Conservation District
to develop Phase 2 of the Permit
Coordination Program for Santa Cruz County.
c.
Authorization to disburse up
to $88,000 to Oikonos Ecosystem Knowledge to carry out habitat
restoration on Año Nuevo Island,
San Mateo County.
d.
Authorization for the Association of Bay Area
Governments (ABAG) to disburse previously authorized Conservancy
funds to construct a Bay Trail
segment in Martinez.
e.
Authorization to
disburse up to $19,000 to the California Exotic Pest Plant Council to prepare,
publish, and distribute a “Wildland
Weed Workers Handbook for the San Francisco Bay Area.”
f.
Authorization to
disburse up to $100,000 to the Humboldt Bay Harbor,
Recreation and Conservation District to develop engineering feasibility
studies, environmental documentation, and permit applications for the
rehabilitation of the Shelter
Cove breakwater facility.
g.
Authorization to disburse to the Mattole Restoration Council the final $70,000 Conservancy funding for Phase I of the Mattole River Watershed Enhancement
Program to implement salmonid habitat improvement projects in the
estuary and artificial rearing facilities.
