Arthur Okamura lives and paints in west Marin County. Some of his recent work captures the multi-layered play of light on water and the shore—translucent fog on the ocean, the gleam of pebbles in mudflats at ebbtide, the deep glow of a lagoon. When Coast & Ocean invited him to create a cover for this issue, he said, “What immediately came to mind was a sea turtle with the world on its back.”
