The Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space Preserve (former Ahmanson Ranch) is open to the public daily, sunrise to sunset. Admission is free. From Highway 101, take Las Virgines Canyon Road north for two miles to the trailhead at the road’s end. Parking is streetside. Bring water, none is available. The nearest public restrooms are at Gates Canyon Park, one mile east of Las Virgenes Canyon Road on Thousand Oaks Boulevard. Guided hikes include moonlight outings.
