China Camp State Park, Marin County, 1989. Clifford Baker, a fourth-generation Californian, began his lifelong love affair with the coast and ocean at his grandparents’ beach cottage on the Rincon, between Santa Barbara and Ventura. He graduated from Stanford University, and was artist in residence with California State Parks in 1982, working for a summer along the central coast. His photographs have been widely published. He lives in San Rafael, and is working on a book about Point Reyes.
