Projects

Since receiving its first funding in July 1999, the Bay Area Conservancy Program has funded over 230 projects in all nine Bay Area counties. These projects range from regionally significant public parks, trails, natural habitat preservation and restoration, and farmland protection to environmental education. Property acquisitions have been of fee title and conservation easements; all have been with willing sellers. Despite the diversity of grant recipients and project purposes, all of the funded projects share several characteristics: they are regionally significant; achieve multiple goals; entail cooperative ventures bringing together many different agencies, organizations, and interests; and close institutional gaps bringing coherence and comprehensiveness to individual efforts.

The reports below summarize how Bay Conservancy funds have been allocated annually from FY 99/00 to FY 04/05. The Seventh and Eighth Year Reports, covering FYs 05/06 and 06/07, will be posted in the winter of 2007/2008. Grant recipients have included public agencies and nonprofit organizations.
